Health care organizations find themselves at the intersection of competing economic and regulatory priorities, and Benjamin (Ben) Link provides trusted counsel as part of his role with Gallagher’s Health Law team.
Ben’s experience includes advising health care clients regarding regulatory compliance matters, including HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Stark compliance, researching licensure requirements across various states for health providers and practitioners, and directly interfacing with regulators as necessary.
On the transactional side, Ben has assisted with drafting and negotiating complex, multimillion-dollar purchase, licensing, and development agreements and related intellectual property, confidentiality, and employment agreements, conducting corporate and health care regulatory due diligence for merger and acquisition transactions, counseling clients regarding corporate formation and governance, and submitting SEC regulatory filings.
Prior to joining Gallagher, Ben was an associate at an AmLaw 100 firm where he focused on issues impacting the health care industry. Ben earned his law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, graduating cum laude with a Certificate in Health Law. He was also awarded the Community Scholar Prize and Public Service Award in recognition of his work to support Maryland’s LGBTQ+ community as a clinical law student.
Ben also previously served as the research director for the Democracy Forward Foundation, managing the nonprofit’s Freedom of Information Act practice and supporting litigation that received coverage from The New York Times and Washington Post, and started his professional career as a policy analyst for the District of Columbia’s Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services.
