Sangeetha Kannan

Sangeetha Kannan’s aptitude for working with people plays a pivotal role in her ability to assist clients with matters ranging from complex commercial litigation to the defense of medical malpractice claims.

As part of her role, Sangeetha drafts motions, pleadings, and briefs, manages the discovery process, and supports her clients through every phase of litigation. She collaborates with healthcare providers on the institutional and individual level, assisting them with resolving legal matters and enabling them to remain focused on their core missions of providing excellent healthcare.

Complementing her litigation practice, Sangeetha also routinely advises healthcare clients on risk management issues to help them preemptively avoid legal exposure.

While in law school, Sangeetha was captain of the National Trial Team, Executive Articles Editor for the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy, and president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA). She also received the William P. Cunningham Award for exceptional achievements and service to the school and the Maryland Law Scholars Award.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Sangeetha served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Douglas R.M. Nazarian of the Appellate Court of Maryland (2022-23).

Representative Experience

• Representing a healthcare provider in its multimillion-dollar dispute with a former revenue cycle management vendor, involving claims of intentional, willful, and knowing breaches of contract.
• Representing physicians and nurses through complex medical malpractice matters.

Beyond Gallagher

Sangeetha has a zest for world travel, and of all the countries she has visited, Italy is her favorite. She enjoys exploring new restaurants and cuisine, stays active through yoga and Pilates, and enjoys going on long walks in Patterson Park with her dog, Nala.
