Gallagher served as the legal advisor to Catholic Charities on the development of a $32 million community center providing healthcare, education, and job training in the Rosemont neighborhood of West Baltimore.

The 55,000-square-foot Carolyn E. Fugett Intergenerational Center opened at 800 Poplar Grove St. after five years of construction and offers services to residents of all ages. Catholic Charities will operate the largest Head Start program in Baltimore out of the site, with over 100 children from infants to 4-year-olds, while vocational training nonprofit the Requity Foundation will offer hands-on training in construction, food service, digital media, and screen printing. Additional services available will include a regional food pantry, physical exercise programs, and resources for senior citizens.

“By bringing education, workforce training, behavioral health, and community programming together, we’re making it easier for families and individuals to access resources, here in a space where people can grow, connect, and thrive – together,” said Kevin Creamer, Carolyn E. Fugett Intergenerational Center Program Director.

Gallagher advised Catholic Charities on the acquisition of the property, zoning variances, negotiation of architectural, engineering, and construction contracts, and tenant leasing. The team was led by Matt Oakey and Kevin Davidson, with support from Jake Niemyer, Collin Wojciechowski, and Rick Gerriets.
